Atty. Sabina Maria H. Mabutas specializes in a diverse range of legal practice areas—from civil and criminal litigation to property and labor disputes, and corporate governance and compliance. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language Studies. Later on, she earned her Juris Doctor Degree at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Civil Law in 2023 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in the same year. During her time in law school, she was involved in student governance, serving as the Finance Officer of the UST Law Commission on Elections and the Assistant Head of the Hotel Accommodations of UST Law Bar Operations. She was also a member of the UST Bar Operations Academic Committee, where she made significant contributions in creating bar reviewers and notes in Criminal Law.
Prior to law school, she has shown her interest and love for the law by delving into forensic linguistics. She made a remarkable contribution to the relatively new and expanding discipline of forensic linguistics when she wrote her college thesis entitled “The Impact of Interpreted Questions on the Strategic Uses of Courtroom Questions in Selected Philippine Criminal Cases.” She presented this at the Linguistic Society of the Philippines National Conference and General Meeting which was held at the Far Eastern University in 2017.
