Sabrina C. Datu

Atty. Sabrina C. Datu, LL.M, Of Counsel. 

Atty. Datu obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Sto. Tomas, where she graduated cum laude.

She attained her degree on Advanced Master of Laws in Public International Law, with a specialization in International Criminal Law from Leiden University in the Netherlands, where she also graduated with a cum laude distinction.

Atty. Datu’s legal skills were honed early in her career as part of the first San Beda Law team to join the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Her participation in various moot court competitions and her local best speaker awards testify to her legal acumen and dedication to the field.

Atty. Datu began her law career in private practice and was part of Estrada & Aquino Law when it first broke ground. She was trained to handle a variety of cases before different levels of the judiciary, such as those pending before the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. She also handled cases before government agencies exercising quasi-judicial powers, such as the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), Department of Education (DepEd), and the Department of Justice (DOJ). 

Atty. Datu’s unwavering commitment to human rights and social justice led her to work as a public defender, providing legal representation for the underprivileged. She handled criminal, civil, family, special civil actions, and special proceedings cases before the Metropolitan Trial Court and Regional Trial Court. 

Subsequently, Atty. Datu served as a Senior Associate in a reputable law office, where she handled diverse litigation matters involving intellectual property law, energy law, family law, civil law, criminal law, and intra-corporate disputes.  

After obtaining her Adv. LL.M degree, Atty. Datu’s global perspective was further enriched through her work as an intern at the Office of the Prosecutor of the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (UN-IRMCT) and as a Visiting Professional in the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague, Netherlands. This international legal experience has equipped her with a unique understanding of global legal issues.
